Daniel G. Steyn
Group Chief Executive
Founded the original property practice in 2008 and led the group's expansion into management, security and food supply.
About the group
DGS Group began as a single property practice and grew — deliberately, one business at a time — into a diversified group with interests in property, security and premium food supply.
Our story
The group started with a small property practice serving a handful of suburbs. Growth came from referrals rather than advertising, and that shaped everything that followed: we only entered a new sector when an existing client asked us to solve a problem we could solve properly.
Property management came first, when owners asked us to keep looking after the buildings we had sold. Security followed, from estates that wanted one accountable partner. The butchery came later, from a family business the group acquired and rebuilt around consistency of grade and supply.
Today DGS Group operates as a holding company: centralised governance, finance and compliance, with each operating business free to serve its market in its own voice.
Values
We treat client assets — homes, buildings, reserve funds — as if the outcome were our own. Every decision is defensible in writing.
Plain reporting, honest valuations and no hidden margins. Clients should never have to interpret what we send them.
Each business is run by people who have done the work. Generalists coordinate; specialists deliver.
We build for succession, not for exit. That shapes how we hire, how we invest and how we price.

Governance
A single finance, compliance and technology function supports every operating company, which keeps overheads low and standards consistent.
